Broadway musicals and theater are a quintessential part of
an evening in New York. The term Broadway is a bit of a
misnomer because most of the Broadway theaters are not
actually located on Broadway but rather in the Times
Square area.
Most theaters can be found from 42nd Street up to
around 53rd street in between Broadway and Eighth
Avenue.
The label Broadway refers to the size of the theater
rather than its location. Theaters with more than one
thousand seats are considered "Broadway" while
those with less are deemed "off-Broadway" or
"cabaret".
To obtain tickets to these shows you can call the
theaters directly or check out our Tickets page for some
tips.
