John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is located in the borough of Queens, New York City, on Jamaica Bay. It is approximately fifteen miles from the heart of Midtown Manhattan. It occupies 4930 acres with approximately different gates from which to depart.

To get there from Manhattan, take the Van Wyck Expressway to the Airport Exit, or Belt Parkway East to exit 19 (which is the Van Wyck Expressway). From New Jersey, follow the New Jersey Turnpike to exit 14C (the Holland Tunnel exit,) then proceed south on West Street to the Belt Parkway.

Upon arrival at the airport, use the following methods to reach Manhattan. By subway, take the A train, which will lead you right in. There are also brown and white vans that provide service from the airport into the Howard Beach-JFK Airport subway station, from which you can charter a course for other destinations. The Carey Airport Express goes from the airport to Grand Central Station, making it a particularly helpful bus. Finally, the Gray Line Air Shuttle will drop you off at any Manhattan hotel from 23rd Street to 125th Street.

On-site parking is readily available on either a daily or long-term basis, with bus service available to the e lots to cut down on a lengthy walk. To check on the availability of parking at any given time, dial (718) 244-4444. Ground transportation to the airport is negotiable for travel by limousine, taxi, or bus, from most local addresses as well as other major airports in the area, such as Newark and LaGuardia.

Rental cars are accessible at JFK, as Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, and National all have stations located along the Van Wyck Expressway near the airport’s entrance.

Connecting flights are always available to Newark International or LaGuardia Airports via express bus, metered taxi, limousine, or chartered and private vans. Multilingual staff (they’re the ones wearing red jackets) will assist you with all inquiries and directions once inside the facility. Additionally, the airport is divided into four color-coded sections to aid in navigation.

Flat Fare from John F. Kennedy Airport

The Taxi & Limousine Commission is conducting a "Flat Fare" program for trips from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Manhattan.

The flat fare is $30.00 plus any tolls. The meter will not be turned on and the night surcharge will not be added.

If passengers request multiple stops, the flat rate of $30.00 will be collected at the first stop in Manhattan, and the meter will be turned on for the remainder of the trip. The metered fare should be collected at the last stop, from the last passenger.
