Broadway Shows
Broadway musicals and theater are a quintessential part of an evening in New York. The term Broadway is a bit of a misnomer because most of the Broadway theaters are not actually located on Broadway but rather in the Times Square area.
Most theaters can be found from 42nd Street up to around 53rd street in between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. The label Broadway refers to the size of the theater rather than its location. Theaters with more than one thousand seats are considered "Broadway" while those with less are deemed "off-Broadway" or "cabaret".
To obtain tickets to these shows you can call the theaters directly or check out our Tickets page for some tips.
New York Museums
One of the best reasons to visit New York is the chance to see some of the greatest works of art ever created. The city has some of the most famous museums in the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art. Many of New York's museums are located on the upper-East Side along Fifth Avenue. Named Museum Mile, this portion of Fifth Avenue runs from 82nd Street all the way to 104th street. Museum Mile 's southern borderis defined by the Met, while the Museo del Barrio caps the north. In between these two museums you can find some other notable museums like The Guggenheim, The Jewish Museum and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
